In May 2016 a devestating wildfire spread through parts of Fort McMurray, Alberta, destroying many homes and businesses and forcing the evacuation of the entire city for several months.

In the immediate aftermath Balsom Communications published a special edition of Your McMurray Magazine to chronicle the disaster and highlight the stories of resilience and survival and the impact the wildfire had on the entire community.

A follow up special edition was also published the following year to highlight the ongoing impact of the wildfire and feature the stories of rebuilding and starting again.
